The starting point
What needed to change
Face matching at an event is a genuinely useful feature attached to a genuinely uncomfortable interaction model. A guest wants the four photos of themselves out of two thousand. What they do not want is a product that treats a selfie as an identity assertion, indexes them across events, or presents a confidence score as a fact about who they are.
The work
How we found the shape
The flow is scoped to one event collection at a time and returns possible matches for the guest to confirm or discard. Matching runs against the collection the guest was invited to, not a cross-event index. The interface is explicit that results are candidates, so the guest's review is the step that produces meaning rather than a formality after the machine has already decided.
